Business customers

Silverlight Local is intended primarily for businesses and individuals acting for business purposes.

Free audits

  • Audits are based on publicly available information and information supplied by the requester.
  • They are initial professional assessments.
  • They do not guarantee ranking improvements, enquiries, sales or revenue.
  • Silverlight Local may decline incomplete, unsuitable, abusive or out-of-scope requests.
  • A free audit does not create an ongoing service contract.

Silverlight Local service

The standard managed service typically includes:

  • Initial profile audit
  • Profile optimisation recommendations
  • Category and service review
  • Business description support
  • Google Business Profile post creation
  • Review response support
  • Competitor observations
  • Photo recommendations
  • Ongoing profile checks
  • Monthly optimisation
  • Reporting
  • Email-based support

The exact scope may also be confirmed in writing during onboarding.

Excluded services

The standard service does not automatically include:

  • Google Ads
  • Advertising expenditure
  • Full website SEO
  • Website development
  • Social media management
  • Professional photography
  • Fake or incentivised reviews
  • Guaranteed ranking positions
  • Guaranteed leads, calls, bookings, sales or revenue

Customer responsibilities

Customers must:

  • Provide accurate information
  • Confirm they are authorised to act for the business
  • Maintain ownership of their Google Business Profile
  • Provide Manager access rather than sharing passwords
  • Review and approve material where requested
  • Inform Silverlight Local of relevant changes
  • Avoid supplying unlawful, misleading or infringing content
  • Comply with Google's applicable policies

Access and control

  • Customers retain ownership of their Google Business Profile.
  • Silverlight Local should normally receive Manager access.
  • Customers should never send their Google password.
  • Customers may remove access at any time.
  • Removing necessary access may prevent the service from being delivered.

Human review and technology

Silverlight Local may use software and AI-assisted tools to help research, draft, organise and report on work.

  • Important customer-facing content is reviewed where appropriate.
  • Technology may occasionally produce errors.
  • Customers remain responsible for confirming business-specific facts they supply.
  • Silverlight Local will not knowingly publish invented claims.

Fees and billing

  • Fees are shown on the website or confirmed in writing.
  • Subscriptions are charged per active Google Business Profile unless otherwise agreed.
  • Fees are generally charged in advance.
  • Customers must maintain a valid payment method.
  • Taxes are added where legally required.
  • Payment provider terms may also apply.

Renewal and cancellation

  • Subscriptions renew monthly until cancelled unless a different written arrangement applies.
  • Customers can cancel through the available payment portal or by emailing hello@silverlightlocal.com.
  • Cancellation normally stops future renewals.
  • Service normally continues until the end of the paid billing period.
  • Fees already paid are normally non-refundable except where required by law or agreed otherwise.
  • Service may be suspended for failed or overdue payments.

Starting the service

Service begins after:

  • Payment is confirmed where applicable
  • Required information is supplied
  • Appropriate Google Business Profile access is provided

Delivery may be delayed by:

  • Missing information
  • Customer approval delays
  • Google access issues
  • Platform outages
  • Third-party service problems

Customer approvals

Silverlight Local may request approval for:

  • Business descriptions
  • Significant profile changes
  • Posts
  • Sensitive review responses
  • Information that cannot be independently verified

Routine actions may be completed under the authority agreed during onboarding.

Google and third-party platforms

  • Silverlight Local is independent from Google.
  • Silverlight Local is not endorsed by or officially partnered with Google.
  • Google controls its own platform, policies, features, availability and rankings.
  • Silverlight Local is not responsible for decisions, outages, suspensions or changes made by Google or another third-party platform.
  • Silverlight Local cannot guarantee that Google will accept, display or retain every submitted update.

Rankings and results

Silverlight Local does not guarantee:

  • Search positions
  • Map rankings
  • Website visits
  • Enquiries
  • Leads
  • Bookings
  • Sales
  • Revenue
  • Review volume

Results can depend on competition, location, reputation, website quality, proximity, customer behaviour and Google's systems and policies.

Intellectual property

  • Silverlight Local owns its website, branding, templates, processes and internal materials.
  • Customers retain ownership of their existing logos, photographs, information and supplied materials.
  • Once paid for, customers may continue using final content specifically produced for their business.
  • Customers confirm they have permission to provide any content supplied.

Confidentiality

Both sides should protect confidential information received during the service, except where disclosure is required by law or needed to provide the service.

Acceptable use

The following are prohibited:

  • Unlawful activity
  • Fraudulent or misleading information
  • Fake reviews
  • Review manipulation
  • Fake business locations
  • Impersonation
  • Unauthorised access
  • Malicious interference
  • Infringement of third-party rights

Suspension and termination

Silverlight Local may suspend or terminate services for:

  • Non-payment
  • Abuse
  • Illegal activity
  • Misleading information
  • Google policy violations
  • Security threats
  • Repeated failure to cooperate
  • Conduct that risks Silverlight Local's accounts, systems or reputation

Where reasonable, notice and an opportunity to resolve the issue will be provided.

Liability

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited.

Silverlight Local is not responsible for:

  • Indirect or consequential business losses
  • Lost profit or anticipated savings
  • Google ranking changes
  • Google account restrictions
  • Platform outages
  • Customer-supplied inaccuracies
  • Actions taken by the customer or third parties
  • Events outside reasonable control

Except where liability cannot legally be limited, Silverlight Local's total liability relating to the service is limited to the fees paid by the customer to Silverlight Local during the previous three months.

Website and service availability

Reasonable care is used to keep the website and service available. Uninterrupted or error-free availability is not guaranteed.

Force majeure

Silverlight Local is not responsible for delays caused by events outside its reasonable control.

Changes

The website, service and these terms may be updated. Reasonable notice will be given where a change materially affects an existing subscription.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction, subject to any mandatory rights that apply.
